Nick Long’s Farewell Performance at The Lonesome Rose Marks New Beginning

Last Saturday, The Lonesome Rose bid farewell to Nick Long, a musician who has dedicated over a decade to creating music in San Antonio. He is best known locally as the guitarist and singer for Lonely Horse and has recently gained national attention for his Country-Americana outfit, Nicky Diamonds.

His recent accolades include performing alongside Alicia Keys, recording music at Willie Nelson’s studio, and becoming a member of the Black Opry. Earlier this year, he unveiled his debut album, "Perdido En La Salsa," which has gained traction across the United States and Mexico.

Looking forward, Long sets his sights on Nashville, the epicenter of country music. Earlier this week, he humorously shared a Facebook status, declaring, "not coming back 'till I can charge y'all $25 a ticket to come see me play."

Alongside Long were the Deep Cuts, his band who has loyally played with him since Nicky Diamonds' inception. They will join him in Nashville for various dates before he transitions to a solo artist. “Going to Nashville to make something of myself and hopefully make y'all proud,” he boasted. As of now, Lonely Horse is scheduled to perform at the Chancla Academy Music Festival in San Antonio on August 2, though there’s been no mention if they will still play the fest.
