Blood, Guts, and Glam: Black Veil Brides Bring 'Bleeders' Tour to Life in San Antonio

Black Veil Brides, known for their cathartic metalcore and gothic aesthetic, slayed the Aztec Theatre last night with a performance inspired by the macabre world of "Sweeney Todd."

The Bleeders Tour, featuring support acts Creeper, Dark Divine, and Ghostkid, highlights the band's new single "Bleeders" and an upcoming EP of the same name.

The EP includes a cover of "My Friends" from "Sweeney Todd." Like the music video for the title track released a few weeks ago, the band’s frontman Andy Biersack took the stage with a silver streak in his hair, mimicking the iconic look from Tim Burton’s film adaptation, while other band members appeared to have their throats slit. The stage design further immersed fans in the "Sweeney Todd" theme, with a set resembling an old-timey alleyway adorned with candle-lit windows and posters for Mrs. Lovett’s meat pies.

The band treated the audience to a journey through their artistic phases, ranging from their new single “Bleeders” to their 2020 hit “Scarlett Cross,” 2011’s “Rebel Love Song,” and returning for an encore with “In The End.”

Additionally, the Bleeders Tour features a virtual blood drive in collaboration with the American Red Cross. As of earlier this week, Black Veil Brides fans have pledged 1,577 pints of blood, each pint potentially saving up to three lives.
