Music took center stage in St. Paul Square on Saturday night as over 33 local acts showcased their talent at Winter Vibes Live 2024. Vice Versa, The Spire, Blayne's, and Francis Bogside all hosted a variety of musical genres, from indie rock to soulful ballads and everything in between.

Some of the featured acts included Buttercup, Honey Bunny, Eddie & The Valiants, Lonely Horse, Any Color You Like, The 501’s, and more.

The festival, which began in 2016, originally had seasonal iterations such as Summer Vibes and Autumn Vibes, spanning several days and hosted at locations like Brick at Blue Star and Krazy Kat. However, it was relocated to St. Paul Square after organizers at Brick sought to downsize the event to only twelve bands. Organizer Noah Slavin, reluctant to make such a reduction, took his idea to Steve Mahoney of the Mahoney Bar Group. After months of weekly meetings, Mahoney successfully brought the event to the corner of Commerce and Hoefgen.

“I want people to know that, no matter what kind of music they're into, there are phenomenal local bands in that genre creating some unbelievable music,” Slavin stated. “Most importantly, I want to help put San Antonio on the map. I want us to be considered a music capital because the talent is here. We deserve all the recognition because our beautiful music scene is thriving.”
