Melanie Martinez dazzled San Antonio Cry Babies on Sunday night with an enthralling performance at Frost Bank Center for “The Trilogy Tour.”

The tour, an elaborate three-part spectacle, meticulously covers her discography in chronological order, narrating the evolution of her alter ego, Cry Baby, through her three studio albums: Cry Baby, K-12, and Portals. Each album unfolds a cohesive story, with "PORTALS" exploring Cry Baby's journey in the afterlife. Known for her dramaturgical production designs, Martinez's concert is a masterful culmination of her extensive storytelling, seamlessly blending lyrics, videos, dance and films into a live performance.

Martinez first gained national attention as a standout contestant on "The Voice" in 2012, quickly establishing her unique artistic vision. Over the years, she has cultivated a dedicated fanbase, the "Cry Babies," by addressing themes of self-acceptance, mental health, and social issues. Her signature aesthetic, consisting of vintage, doll-like imagery, and dark fairy-tale themes, resonates deeply with young audiences, with many in the audience emulating that style in their outfits.

The evening kicked off with performances by alt-pop singer-songwriter and violinist Sofia Isella, followed by the poppy lo-fi, guitar-driven tunes of Chicago-based rock quartet Beach Bunny.
