Metal titans Bullet for My Valentine and Trivium brought their co-headlining Poisoned Ascendancy Tour to a sold-out Boeing Center for a night of nostalgia-fueled fury.

The tour celebrates the 20th anniversaries of each band’s breakout albums — The Poison by Bullet for My Valentine and Ascendancy by Trivium. Opening acts Sylosis and August Burns Red delivered a relentless barrage of metalcore riffage that set the tone for the evening.

Trivium took the stage first to a raucous crowd, with circle pits and crowd surfers galore. The band powered through hit songs like “Pull Harder on the Strings of Your Martyr” and “Like Light to Flies,” while challenging the crowd to take the crown as the best show of the tour. From beginning to end, their performance proved the band’s relevancy twenty years later..

Bullet for My Valentine closed out the night tapping into the weight of their early hits like “Tears Don’t Fall” and “4 Words (To Choke Upon).” The performance left the audience in awe, reaffirming that their legacy still hits as hard as ever.
